Roster Persona is a standard construct of PowerRoster, allowing for the definition of the characteristics, skills, endorsements, roles/categories combination that represent the persona/grouping. This is then used to filter Resources when looking for Frontline Workers to be part of a roster/task.
Personas are then used on a Roster Position to ensure only suitable resources can be selected for allocation to the position and shifts.
The purpose of separating persona from a resource’s role is to support a group of requirements to represent the roster requirement.
For example, the Persona may state roles of Incident Manager and Incident Controller are both suitable for the persona, but as they will be working with children, there is a characteristic of “Working with Children Clearance” additionally specified on the Persona. Only resources with the working with children clearance with either “Incident Controller” or “Incident Manager” will be available for allocation to a position using this persona.
Key Features of Roster Personas:
Defines Role Requirements – Specifies the skills, certifications, qualifications, and characteristics needed for a resource to be assigned to a position.
Supports Cross-Rostering – Allows resources with specific roles or titles to work across multiple personas, increasing workforce flexibility.
Ensures Compliance – Helps enforce workforce regulations by ensuring that only qualified resources can be allocated to roster positions.
Facilitates Smart Resource Allocation – Enables automatic filtering of resources based on predefined persona criteria, ensuring the best fit for each shift.
Separates Role from Resource Requirements – Instead of tying a resource to a single role, personas define a set of requirements that can apply across different roles.
Customisable for Different Rosters – This can be tailored to meet the specific demands of different rosters, such as duty rosters and incident rosters.
Enhances Workforce Planning – Provides better visibility into resource suitability, allowing for more effective scheduling and resource management.
By using Roster Personas, organisations can ensure that the right resources are allocated to the right positions while maintaining compliance and operational efficiency.
