Availability allows Frontline Workers to request and manage leave, with approvals recorded against the Work Hours Calendar. It ensures accurate tracking of resource availability, facilitating better scheduling and planning.
Additionally, this module can be extended to integrate with HR/Payroll Systems or store additional data, such as leave accrual.
A Frontline Worker can request availability via the Frontline Power App and configure it to follow an approval process.

Request Leave
Leave requests can be submitted using either the PowerRoster main app or the Frontline Power App.
To create a leave:
Navigate to PowerRoster App > Rosters > Select Availabilities.
Select +New to create a new leave request.
Fill in the required fields and Save.

Example
Approve Leave
Administrators can approve/cancelled the leave request through the PowerRoster main App as shown below:
Navigate to PowerRoster App > Rosters > Select Availabilities.
A list of availability requests will be displayed which shows the availability of all resources, including their status, type, and dates.
Go to the pending request and update the status.
Once the availability request is approved by updating the status to Approve, shifts will be generated with RDO status where the resource will be unavailable.
The roster assigned to the resource will be updated to reflect the change made.
Work Hours Calendar Update
The Work Hours Calendar shows each resource's scheduled allocation and absences. This calendar provides dispatchers with a snapshot of resource availability and helps resources stay on top of their schedules.
When the availability status changes from pending to approved/cancelled, it will be reflected on the assigned roster for the resource as shown below:
Leave Request Approved: when the status changes to approve, shifts will be generated with RDO status where the resource will be unavailable and added to the calendar.
Leave Request Cancelled: when the status changes to cancelled, it will then remove the leave from the roster and replace it with original roster patterns.
Note
The colour-code is indicated by the Shift Type associated to the Availability Type record. This field lets you represent different types of absences with different colours.
