RFM (Recency, Frequency, and Monetary value (RFM) score)

The RFM (Recency, Frequency, Monetary) Scoring Framework is a donor segmentation tool that evaluates donor engagement based on:

  • Recency: How recently the donor gave.

  • Frequency: How often the donor gives.

  • Monetary: How much the donor gives.

This feature allows administrators to:

  • Configure fields on contact and accounts for RFM scoring (e.g., Last Gift Date, Total Gift Count, Total Gift Amount).

  • Define ranges and ranks (1–5) for each dimension.

  • Automatically calculate and update scores whenever relevant fields change.

  • Generate a composite score (e.g., 444, 345) for easy segmentation.

  1. Navigate to Configuration area, under ā€˜Scoring’ heading select ā€˜RFM Scoring Configuration’.

  2. Select +New to create ā€˜RFM Score Configuration’ record, select the Scoring Destination Table as account or contact.

  3. Select Save.

  4. Select ā€˜Edit Scoring Details’ button in top ribbon. Populate the Destination fields for storing the calculated score values on the selected table (contact OR account) and also Scoring fields for Recency, Frequency and Monetary. And select Next button.

  5. Add ā€˜Number of Ranges’ (number between 1 to 5) for RFM scoring. Select Next.

  6. Select the values for each range for each type of score - Recency, Frequency and Monetary. Select Next.

  7. Check RFM Score Source records added under the RFM Score Configuration record.

  8. Once setup, PwE runs a scheduled flow once every day, and updates the RFM Score on the contact and account as per the RFM configuration.

  9. The user has the option to manually run the ā€œRFM Score Recalculationā€ flow from the selected contact or account record.

LAI (Linkage, Ability, Interest) Score

PwE allows administrators to enable the LAI (Linkage, Ability, Interest) Score functionality within the PwE application. Where Linkage measures how connected a person is to your organisation, Ability measures the financial strength or capacity of a prospect to make a significant donation, and Interest measures the willingness to engage or donate towards the organisation’s mission or causes.

Once enabled, it helps organisations assess and prioritise donor outreach by identifying contacts most likely to engage or donate, based on configurable scoring criteria.

  1. Navigate to Configuration area, under ā€˜Scoring’ heading select ā€˜LAI Scoring Configuration’.

  2. Select +New to create a ā€˜LAI Score Configuration’ record and select ā€˜Scoring Destination Table’ as account or contact. And click Save.

  3. Click on Edit Scoring Details button in the top ribbon.

  4. Select Scoring Destination field and Weightage for each of criterion, Linkage, Ability, and Interest on Contact. Also select Destination field for composite ā€œLAI Scoreā€ on Contact. And click Next button.

Ensure the sum of weightage entered must be 100.

  5. For Linkage score calculation, select at least one Source field and add at least one rule/criteria for selected Source field. You can select up to 3 Source fields and up to 5 criteria on selected Source field.

  6. Similarly select at least one Source field and add at least one rule/criteria for selected Source field for Ability and Interest on following screens.

  7. Click Save to complete setup.

  8. Once setup, PwE runs a scheduled flow once every day, and updates the LAI Score on the contact and account as per the LAI configuration.

  9. The user has the option to manually run the ā€œRFM Score Recalculationā€ flow from the selected contact or account record.
