Power BI Reports

Prev Next

PowerWorker Engage enables users to embed Power BI reports into their workspace. Power BI can be used to create interactive reports that analyse organisational data stored in Dataverse. These reports enable nonprofit organisations to visualise trends, monitor performance, and support data-driven decision-making.

Configure your own Power BI reports

To create a Power BI report for your data:

  1. Install Power BI Desktop and sign in using your organisational account.

  2. In Power BI Desktop, select Get Data and connect to the Dataverse or Dynamics 365 data source.

  3. Select the required entities (such as, contacts, accounts, campaigns, or transactions).

  4. Build the report by dragging fields onto the canvas and creating visualisations such as charts, tables, and KPIs.

  5. Create calculated measures or filters if required to analyse trends and performance.

  6. Publish the report to the Power BI Service, where it can be shared with other users and embedded within PwE.

Once published, the report can be displayed within PowerWorker Engage dashboards or workspaces, allowing users to explore organisational data without leaving the application. For more details, see Configuring PowerBI Reports.

Power BI reports in PwE

Power BI reports can provide valuable insight into fundraising and operational performance, including:

  • Gifts Performance Report: Visualises donation trends, total gift value, and donor activity over time to help organisations understand fundraising performance.

  • Goals Report: Tracks fundraising targets against actual donations, allowing teams to monitor progress and identify areas requiring attention.

  • Pipeline Report: Provides visibility into upcoming fundraising opportunities and pledged donations, helping organisations forecast revenue and prioritise engagement efforts.

  • Recurring Transaction Report: Displays recurring donations and payment schedules, helping organisations monitor retention, predict ongoing revenue, and identify changes in donor behaviour.

To view these reports in PowerWorker Engage:

  1. Navigate to Reports area.

  2. See the available reports pages under the ā€˜BI Reports’ section.

Gift Performance Report

The Gift Performance report shows how much revenue you’ve collected so far, how much has been pledged, and how much is still outstanding. It also breaks that revenue down by business unit, designation, and campaign so you can see which areas are driving the most fundraising activity.

Goals Report

The Goals Report shows how your fundraising efforts are tracking against a specific revenue goal, highlighting how much has been collected, pledged, and how close you are to meeting the target. It breaks progress down by fiscal period and business unit so you can see where contributions are coming from and how each area is performing toward the goal.

Pipeline Report

The Pipeline Report shows the overall health and value of your fundraising pipeline — how much potential revenue is in play, how many opportunities are open, won, or lost, and which stages those opportunities sit in. It also breaks activity down by manager, month, and business unit so you can see who is driving the pipeline and where future revenue is most likely to come from.

Recurring Transactions

The Recurring Transactions Report provides an overview of your organisation’s recurring gift performance, showing both the expected recurring revenue (what donors are scheduled to give) and the actual recurring revenue that has been successfully processed. It helps you monitor the health of your recurring donor program by showing dates, donor counts, payment types, processor performance, and whether payments were successful or failed.
